How would you describe yourself in three words?
Insightful, upbeat, challenging.
Best part of the job:
Getting to work with really interesting people and to bring creative thinking to new challenges.
Where do you come from?
A Londoner by birth with South American and German heritage, I am fascinated by diversity in people, environments and businesses. The work heritage is working with change across sectors at individual, team and organisational levels.
How did you end up at ReConsulting?
Through a few conversations with one of the team about the relationship of strategic vision and human engagement.
An inspiring facilitator and coach with 25 years experience in people development.
Following a first degree in Drama and German, Liz began her career designing and leading arts and drama-based projects with, and for, profoundly disabled client groups and their carers. Working with staff in such highly institutionalised and hidden environments whetted Liz’s appetite to understand more about human motivation and kicked off what has become a life-long interest in the people dimensions of change.
She has pursued this at a number of levels. She initially trained as a Gestalt psychotherapist and then as an Integrated psychotherapist, and has completed a Masters in Change Agency at Surrey University.
Gestalt remains a core interest and she has done further training relating Gestalt to organisational change.
Liz has a strong belief in the value of working systemically to identify relevant interconnections in order to design effective and sustainable interventions. She is seen as pragmatic and creative – she likes being presented with an issue or set of issues and having to creatively problem-solve to find the right approach.
In addition to her one-to-one coaching and team development work, Liz has extensive expertise in the design and delivery of leadership development programmes, where much of her work involves structured action learning. Clients include PwC, Tesco, BT, BBC World Service, DHL, Telegraph Media Group, Laing O’Rourke, Cancer Research UK, a variety of NHS Trusts and UK local authorities.
Liz continues to enjoy her first loves, theatre and dance. She pursues this primarily as an audience member, but has also studied clowning and circus skills to indulge her playful nature (something she hopes her young son will appreciate!). She has been struck by how relevant the core of these disciplines are to leadership: being present, creativity in the moment, humanity, and connection to others.
Having lived in Berlin and spent time travelling in South America, she relishes discovering different environments and ways of doing things. She is also a keen cook.
